New Jersey’s officially reported high school graduation rates are about to change. This fall the NJDOE will begin implementing a new federally-mandated formula for calculating graduation rates. The new formula will change how the rates are measured, rather than reflect any sudden change in the number of students earning diplomas.
NJDOE Misses ‘Modest Goal’ for High School Tests

Partial results for the Alternative High School Assessment (AHSA) indicate that even more students may not graduate this June than during last year's graduation crisis that saw an estimated 3000 fail to get diplomas. ELC estimates that as many as 5000 students may not be eligible to receive diplomas on time.
