ELC RECEIVES ADVOCACY AWARD FROM NAACP BRANCH

On October 26, Education Law Center (ELC) was honored by the New Brunswick Area Branch of the NAACP during the organization’s 40th Annual Freedom Fund Luncheon. ELC was presented with the Education Advocacy Award given to activists and organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to educational equity. Sharon Krengel, ELC’s Policy and Outreach Director, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone, who spoke at the luncheon, presented ELC and nine other honorees with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, “in recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community.”

The connection between ELC and the New Brunswick Area Branch goes beyond this special honor. The branch, led by President Bruce Morgan, is a member of Our Children/Our Schools, a statewide network of education, children’s rights and civil rights advocates that is facilitated by ELC.
