Kids
In Concert The Best Show in Town!
Over
200 students from Bridgeton, East Orange, Elizabeth, Long Branch,
Newark, Passaic, Phillipsburg and Union City came together to create
one of the best performances in "Kids in Concerts"
history. Each year the caliber of talent keeps rising, 2003 was
no exception.
On
Wednesday, May 7, 2003 the 1800-seat State
Theatre New Brunswick was filled to near capacity with an
audience eager to witness the talented performers representing 8
of the 30 Abbott districts. The acts ranged from a beat-filled Merengue
Band from Passaic to a traditional Barbershop Quartet from Phillipsburg.
The
participating children rehearsed for a day and a half prior to the
start of the show with Kids In Concerts artistic director,
Tanya Gibson Clark. The hard work and dedication of the students
and teachers could be seen in the quality of their performances
and reflected in the cheers of the audience. Kids In Concert
was yet again a wonderful success!
