Pleasantville District challenged DOE estimate of $8.5 million in supplemental funding. On appeal, funds were restored for contracted salary increases, special education, and an increase in the Consumer Price Index. In addition, calculation errors by the DOE and auditors were corrected in favor of the district. On appeal, two Assistant Supervisory positions were restored. In addition, $716,417 was restored through settlement for DOE mandated hirings and supervisors/coordinators. On appeal, funds were restored to account for a reduction in calculated district surplus. In addition, funding was restored to support an increase in Consumer Price Index (CPI), special education, a technical high school, transportation, increased utilities costs and contracted salary raises.
