FOUNDER TOUTS ACHIEVEMENT GAINS IN ABBOTT SCHOOLS
In
an op-ed in the Times of Trenton on June 22, 2003, Dr. Robert Slavin
describes the gains on New Jersey's fourth grade assessment in Abbott
schools from 1999-2002 as "nothing short of phenomenal."
Dr. Slavin developed Success for All, a program in use in 67 Abbott
elementary schools. Because Abbott targets funding to programs designed
to increase student achievement, Dr. Slavin concludes that New Jersey
is now "leading the nation" in improving the education
of disadvantaged children.

ELC EXPERTS SHOW ABBOTT SCHOOLS UNDERGOING WHOLE SCHOOL REFORM MAKING
SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT GAINS
In May 2003 reports filed with the NJ Supreme Court, Dr. Robert
Slavin, founder of Success for All, and Dr. Bari Erlichson, Rutgers
University, analyze results from Abbott schools on fourth grade
state assessment from 1999-2002, and conclude that these schools
are making "significant" and "impressive" gains when compared to
other schools. See
summary.
